 As I walked into Camelot in Waverly, Pa the other day for lunch, I wanted to start singing its namesake song! July |
 I happily hummed it through the beautiful entryway into the restaurant for lunch with an adult lifelong friend. It was another beautiful day and we could see the Endless Mountains in the distance. Starting with a delicious iced tea, my favorite lunch time beverage, we proceeded to their famous onion soup. It was everything I hoped for and more. I am a soup maker myself, but am intimidated by onion soup as I ruined a batch when I was a young bride many years ago and I guess I never got over it! Cheesy, great broth and just right toasted bread. My lunch partner went on to order a very filling grilled romaine salad, beautifully presented and I, a Caesar salad. It was just perfect. We finished lunch with a cup of hot tea, willfully ignoring the lucious dessert menu. It is not easy!! Our service was very good, quick, efficient and friendly. I've heard they are great for dinner, but, don't often find myself in that direction. I would definitely give it a try if I were in the are. They have a fabulous bar and a terrific outside dining area in fair weather. I give this a 4 out of 4! Linda L. |
